Like any piece of equipment, a centrifugal pump must be installed and maintained properly for trouble free service. This section is concerned only with the installation and placement of the pump. For maintenance points, check out the ] section.

Correct and complete installation practices can mean the difference between a pump that gives many years of trouble-free service and one that requires constant and repetitive maintenance. While the space available to us in this article denies us the opportunity to provide a detailed instruction on how to install all types of pumps, most of the information herein refers to the single-stage, end-suction design.
Three particular areas must be satisfied to ensure that a pump will provide long and reliable operation within a system.
Pump Cabin – Foundation dwg
When designing an application, it can sometimes be difficult to get access to a 3D pump model. At Grundfos Product Center, you can find and download pump drawings, including CAD, quickly and easily.
This page briefly describes moisture sources, moisture movement mechanisms and typical basement moisture problems. Then, a step-by-step process for addressing each problem is presented along with several detailed approaches to solving the problem.
Construction of Foundation – Depth, Width, Layout and Excavation
Procedure for construction of foundation starts with decision on its depth, width and marking layout for excavation and centerline of foundation. Foundation is the part of structure below plinth level in direct contact of soil and transmits load of super structure to soil. Generally it is below the ground level. If some part of foundation is above ground level, it is also covered with earth filling. This portion of structure is not in contact of air, light etc., or to say that it is the hidden part of the structure.
As well as the technology, Universal Foundation provides design, project management and engineering expertise as well as offering holistic solutions for their Mono Bucket foundation, working alongside fellow Fred. Olsen related companies or third party contractors for fabrication and installation.

If the slope of the building site allows, perimeter drains should connect to solid pipe that runs to daylight. The solid pipe should be sloped at a minimum pitch of 1-4 inch per foot, although a steeper slope is better. If there is more than 200 linear feet of foundation, add a second outlet or increase the size of the outlet pipe from 4 inches to 6 inches.
Generally, a sump pump will sit in a sump pump liner, which can range in quality from a cheap plastic or metal bucket to a large, clog-resistant liner. Experienced and reliable contractors will surround the space outside of the bucket with clean stone in order to keep away mud and potentially clogging debris. The sump pit and liner containing the sump pump should be appropriately sized.
