Frankly speaking, Blank Bullets can be fired from any gun, including proper guns as well as those specifically meant to shoot only Blank Ammo. The latter types of guns have a blocking mechanism in the barrel or the chamber so as to NOT accept live ammo.

But from 4 June, the guns, which are painted bright orange, will be illegal to own in Britain, the Association of Chief Police Officers (Acpo) announced yesterday. Officers have seized 179 converted Olympics from criminals in the past three years. All but 22 of the converted guns have been recovered in London although there have also been seizures across the country, including Bristol, Manchester and North Yorkshire. It is believed that there are at least 1,300 still in Britain.
Sadly, this has happened quite a few times. In 1984, an actor on a television show knew that his gun was loaded with blanks and empty cartridges. He put the gun to his head and pulled the trigger as a joke, and the bullet and gas exploded with so much force that it pushed a section of his skull into his brain. Since then there have been other deaths in film, and even stage plays. Although blanks are primarily used to make a bang and a flash, they’re not just noisemakers. Any closer than a couple of feet, and they can be deadly.
Are blank-firing guns dangerous? YES. Anyone who provides blank-firing weapons for stage and screen should know where their dangers lie, and make sure they are never used in a hazardous manner. But as a demonstration of what they can actually do, the video below should make it clear. Keep it in mind when it comes time to use your weapons, or show it to a director who tries to convince you that you are being overly cautious.
The best way to describe a Blank Gun is to imagine it as a real gun in just about every way except one… There are no dangerous bullets flying out the front of it. That’s right, a Blank Gun just like a real gun uses a brass or metal shells, loaded with a primer and gun powder, but for what ever reason reason, some rocket scientists forgot to put a bullet at the end of the Blank shell.
STATE v. 10 06 79
C.Q. agreed to a stipulated facts trial based on the agreed facts and the police report. The court found him guilty and sentenced him to community service. Although some findings of fact were entered, no formal conclusions of law pursuant to the mandate of JuCR 7.11(d) were ever filed. C.Q. appeals claiming there was insufficient evidence to support his conviction, and that the State failed to properly enter findings and conclusions.
Best Uses for Blank Guns
This is one of the most common uses for blank guns. Today, for safety reasons, the majority of prop guns are blank-fire-only guns. Even so, every movie and theatrical set should have a weapons master whose job it is to store, maintain, and control prop guns. That person needs to check every gun before and after each use.
Alleged gun crimes with starter pistol results in serious charges
Massachusetts State Police say that a 26-year-old New Bedford, Massachusetts, man attempted to rob a victim Monday afternoon using only a starter pistol. Police say they received a call from the alleged victim about an incident that occurred outside the Dartmouth Mall around 4:45 p.m. Troopers responded to that call and met with the alleged victim, who then identified the alleged robber to them. Police later arrested the alleged robber and a search of his person turned up an Ekol Botan 9mm PAK starter pistol. The man was arrested and taken to the Dartmouth State Police barracks.
